Wild Yam is a natural plant estrogen that is often used in skin care formulas meant to reduce the signs of aging in women and men. Wild Yam is a preferred alternative to the many harsh chemicals that are often found in traditional beauty creams. It is natural, without the toxins associated with some formulas and certainly without the complicated risks of wrinkle-reducing surgery.
Wild Yam for Wrinkle Reduction
Why Wild Yam for wrinkle reduction? Clinical evidence has shown correlations between menopause and endogenous skin aging. This input has been used in various studies investigating the relevance of estrogens for skin and what this means to skin aging, as well as estrogen compounds and their possible therapeutic effects. For cosmetic purposes phytoestrogens seem to present a promising alternative to the medical treatment and harsh chemical peels.
Injectable alternatives mean that fillers such as collagen, hyaluronic acid, and fat, are injected beneath the skin to fill and plump out wrinkles. Using natural alternatives such as Artistry Time Defiance® Vitamin C + Wild Yam Treatment, you can achieve natural wrinkle reduction using a non-invasive approach. Pure pharmaceutical-grade, nature-identical vitamin C instead of a needle, this combination product is clinically proven to reduce the appearance of wrinkles by 58% when applied to the face. And it’s the only vitamin C and wild yam product on the market that allows you to control when the vitamin C is activated. It provides the ultimate in potency, effectiveness, and wrinkle-fighting power
If you have been looking for a noninvasive, natural anti wrinkle product, Wild Yam and Vitamin C Artistry Time Defiance is the right product for you, naturally.

Nutrients dominate much of the discussion about supplements and that causes many people to become confused about what is considered a vitamin and what is a mineral. In truth, there is so much that goes into understanding what each vitamin and mineral do for and to your body that it can be hard to keep track of them all.
Minerals Basics
Minerals are inorganic elements that the body does not make by itself. Instead, the body obtains minerals from the foods that are eaten or through supplements. The two types of minerals are Trace minerals and Macro minerals.
Some minerals are taken specifically because they may be great contributors to beautiful skin, hair and nails. Some people call these the Beauty Minerals.
How Minerals Affect Beauty
- Sulphur is known as the “beauty” mineral. It keeps hair, nails and skin strong. It plays a role in the production of collagen, which helps maintain the skin’s elasticity. Sulphur also helps with such conditions as eczema, psoriasis and acne. Sulphur can be found in lean meats, fish, eggs, milk, legumes, cabbage, brussel sprouts and turnips.
- Iodine, which is found mainly in the thyroid gland, regulates the release of energy in the body. It also regulates the metabolism so without iodine a person would gain a great deal of weight. Iodine also contributes to healthy hair, skin, nails and teeth. Good sources of iodine are leafy vegetables, fish, shellfish, and onions
- Copper protects the cardiovascular and nervous systems, as well as bones. It helps keep arteries from hardening and is needed for healthy hair and skin. The body also needs copper to produce antioxidants. Half of the body’s copper supply is in the bones and muscles. Copper can be found in beef liver, black-eyed peas, shellfish and cocoa.

The harmful chemicals and toxins that are commonly used in everyday health and beauty products affect our health in many ways. Should it be surprising that the dramatic increase in makeup use in young girls over 20 years ago coincided with a massive increase in autoimmune diseases in those that are now adults?
Many common reactions and health problems can be attributed to toxins and chemicals that are absorbed through the skin. Eczema, Psoriasis, Sensitive skin, these are often said to be simple allergens, but if you consider that an allergy is a reaction to something then you may be on to something.
Take a moment and think of just how many personal products you use everyday that could be harmful to your health.
- Facial Cleansers
- Exfoliates
- Mineral Masks
- Conditioners
- Moisturizers
- Shaving Cream
- Shampoos
- Conditioner
- Body Wash
- Liquid Hand Soap
- Tooth Paste
- Mouth Wash
- Deodorant
- Body Cream
- and so many more
The truth is that many of the products that you use on your body are absorbed through the skin. The common synthetic chemicals used in beauty products can be avoided if you make the switch to natural, organic products that benefit your beauty and keep your body balanced.
Organic beauty products are created using environmentally safe processes and naturally occurring pigments, oils and nutrients that are beneficial to your body while meeting your high expectation for beauty products. Years ago, synthetic products were created because they were cheaper to mass produce, but the far reaching effects on health were not studied at that time. Choose natural, organic beauty products to maintain your beauty and your health.

Many people believe that acne is caused by poor hygiene or just a matter of raging hormones. With these myths perpetuated as the sole cause of acne, people usually come to the conclusion that there is nothing they can do about acne except endure it and hope it stops soon.
The Truth about Acne
Acne is caused by dead skin cells combined with the body’s own natural oils becoming trapped in the pores of the skin. When the oil becomes trapped in the pores, it leads to bacterial growth. Bacterial growth then causes the inflammation and discomfort associated with the condition of acne. In severe cases, scarring and infection can occur.
Ways to Avoid Acne and Maintain Healthy Skin
Your diet is a major contributor to skin health and avoiding acne. The hormonal content of partially skimmed milk, the high glycemic content of certain simple carbohydrates, and low levels of vitamins A and E, all of these have all been linked to the formation of acne in studies.
The environment also has an impact on healthy skin and the avoidance of acne. If your skin is surrounded by oily hair or subjected to harsh chemical treatments or abuse, acne is able to flare up and become more serious. Oily hair can aggravate neck, forehead, and shoulder acne. If your shampoo is too harsh, it will dry out the scalp and lead to extra oil production, which will in turn gravitate to the forehead and clog more pores.
If you are suffering from acne, look for ways in which you can make your daily beauty rituals more health and balanced.

One of the most common beauty complaints during the winter season is dry, chaped lips. Dry and chapped lips are common in both men and women and can be more than simply irritating. Cracked and bleeding lips are painful and can open your body’s defenses up to infection.
The skin on your lips is actually quite delicate and prone to problems. Vulnerable, your lips are subjected to the hot and cold of the environment as well as the temperature, acid, salty and spicy extremes are our diet. Dry, chapped lips may be caused by different factors, including vitamin deficiency, excessive sun or wind exposure, licking your lips or harsh chemicals in you lip balm.
Symptoms of chapped lips:
- dry and sore lips
- feel rough and tender
- peeling and cracking
- bleeding
How to help your Dry, Chapped lips
- Exfoliating your lips once a week can do wonders for their condition! When you exfoliate the delicate skin of the lips, you are removing the dead skin cells that can make your lips look and feel rough and dry.
- Use the right lip balm to keep your lips moisturized at all times. Look for a lip balm that contains more moisturizing ingredients and natural oils than chemicals. Also, look for lip balms that include sun protection of SPF 15 or higher to protect the delicate skin of your lips from the harmful UBA and UVB rays.

If the cold winter wind is leaving your beauty routine out in the cold and making you feel less than your beautiful best, here are some great winter skin care tips.
- Your favorite moisturizer doesn’t have to be ditched during the winter. Daily, regular moisturizer is still perfect even against the cold winds of January, but if you need an extra kick, try to apply a moisturizing serum before hand. The truth is that unless you are living north of Anchorage, your daily hydration routine should be enough against most any conditions.
- Instead of lighter color, think lighter texture. Many people switch to a lighter color base during the winter in order to compensate for the lack of a sun tan. If you are using sunscreen year round (and you should be!) then you are using a light self-tanning cream and your base color doesn’t really need to change. The problem with winter looks is that a matte that helps hide the sweat in the summer makes your winter look almost lifeless. Give yourself an extra glow in the winter to look fresh, not crisp.
- The winter wind is also probably not what is making your face dry. The most usual source of dry skin in the winter is actually the incredibly arid, dry indoor heat. Face it, most of us spend a good deal of time indoors during the winter, and the regulated indoor heat, set to roast, is the perfect environment for dry skin. Pump some moisture back into the air with a humidifier and reach for a glass of water.

There are many annoying and irritating skin problems and itchy scalp is one problem that stops most people in their tracks and then sends them on a sprint to the hair care aisle of their favorite beauty store.
One cause of itchy scalp is a simple skin condition like psoriasis or seborrhea dermatitis. This means that you essentially have a yeast that forces your skin to grow more rapidly than normal. The overabundance of skin, in turn, encourages an overgrowth of the organisms that trigger itching.
There are other causes for itchy scalp, from head lice to mites to simple nervousness running amuck. Dangerous medical conditions such as a Thyroid disorder also commonly cause an itchy scalp.
If you have been suffering from an itchy scalp an are looking for help, here are some great tips:
- Keep the scalp scale free with regular shampooing.
- Be gentle. Too much harsh shampooing should be avoided.
- Avoid drying hair lotions or highly chemical shampoos and conditioners.
- Stick to a natural and balanced diet.
- Make sure you are getting sufficient sleep and regular exercise.
Remember to try and keep your shampoo as natural and organic as possible. Many times, the cause of itchy scalp and dry, dull hair is the sheer amount of foreign chemicals being applied to it through use of commercialized shampoos and conditioners. Try switching to a natural shampoo and conditioner to give your hair and scalp the breather that it needs.
